JOB TITLE:  CLINICAL MEDICAL ASSISTANT (CMA)

DEPARTMENT: Integrated Health Services

FLSA: Full-Time; Hourly/Non-Exempt

DURATION: OPEN Until Filled

HIRING RANGE: $15.00/hour to $20.00 per hour

Position Purpose

Performs Clinical duties as they pertain outpatient clinical care. Assists provider (Physician/Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant) with medical procedures and tests in conjunction with patient visits. Position will participate in QI activities as needed.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Triage patient
  2. Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  3.  Escorts patients to the exam room and prepares a patient for an exam.
  4. Obtains patient history and chief complaint.
  5.  Obtain lab specimens, give injections, draw blood, and perform routine medical tests Make referral appointments.
  6. Provide patient education.
  7. Call in prescription per PA/FNP/MD orders.
  8. Performs light housekeeping chores.
  9. Maintains an adequate inventory of medication supplies.
  10. Places pharmacy order
  11. File patient information in the medical record.
  12. Assist in assuring goals and objectives are met.
  13. Receives telephone calls, answers inquiries, and/or refers questions to appropriate staff members.
  14. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is Preferred. Current CPR/BLS certification.

Certification is required to demonstrate competency in the performance of duties specific to infant, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

Must be knowledgeable of HIV, and Sexual Transmitted Diseases.

Other Skills & Abilities 

Maintain Confidentiality; Good computer skills; Multi-tasking; Well organized with good oral and written communication skills.
