HIRING RANGE: $30.00/hour to $35.00/hour

Position Purpose

The OTR (Long-Haul Overnight) Truck Driver is responsible for picking up and dropping off deliveries throughout the USA. This position will be out on the road for 2 to 3 weeks consecutively with no return home during that time.

All applicants will be reviewed and those deemed most qualified will be contacted for interview. Jobs will be open for a maximum of 30 days from initial posting.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Attendance and being available during scheduled work hours are essential functions of the job to ensure work goals are met and customers are served.
  2. Must be flexible to work all shifts.
  3. Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  4. Operate a straight truck or tractor-trailer and follow the provided route plan for pick-up and delivery of plant product.
  5. Load, secure, and log via Route App all equipment and plant products before departing any location.
  6. Maintain daily logbook of activities.
  7. Complete daily vehicle inspection and report findings to the supervisor as needed.
  8. Maintain a safe work environment while driving and onsite at clients’ locations.
  9. Stay up to date with and adhere to DOT standards.
  10. Maintain valid CDL and DOT certification as required for commercial truck drivers.
  11. Stay knowledgeable of safety regulations and hours of service by reading safety manuals and HOS guides.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Must have a valid Class A North Carolina CDL and at least 5 to 10 years of commercial truck driving experience. Good driving record. Must have a high school diploma or GED.

Must be able to drive over the road/long-distance. Must be able to be OTR for a consecutive 3 weeks out of a month.

Other Skills & Abilities 

Provide excellent customer service; Display good oral, written, and listening skills; ability to work independently.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit for periods of three or more hours, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. Good vision abilities which include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus are required for this position. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
