JOB TITLE: Medical Credentialing Specialist

FLSA: Full-Time; Hourly/Non-Exempt

DURATION: Open Until 3/30/2022

HIRING RANGE: $18.00/hour to $22.00/hour

Position Purpose

Responsible for all aspects of the credentialing, re-credentialing, verification, and privileging processes for all medical providers who provide patient care at and for OIC, which includes Dental, Behavioral Health as well as Primary Care. Responsible for ensuring providers are credentialed, appointed, and privileged with health plans, hospitals, and patient care facilities. Maintain up-to-date data for each provider on the Credentialing Grid and ensure timely renewal of licenses and certifications.

Due to the volume of applications received, please do not contact the OIC Human Resources Department to check the status of an application, as we will be unable to provide this information over the phone. All applicants will be reviewed and those deemed most qualified will be contacted for interview. Jobs will be open for a maximum of 30 days from initial posting.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

· Coordinates and provides support in the processing and verifying of credentialing information for providers in accordance with HRSA policies.

· Works to ensure that valid and timely information is provided for practitioner credentialing decisions.

· Monitors information collection and analyzes data received to ensure accuracy. Conducts follow-up activities as necessary.

· Upon completion of verification, ensures up-to-date hard copy and file integrity, notifying supervisor of any outstanding information or clarification required.

· Assists with verification of providers by using various web sites that are required by HRSA for a FQHC facility.

· Maintains copies of current state licenses, DEA certificates, malpractice coverage and any other required credentialing documents for all providers.

· Clerical tasks include filing reports, typing statements, typing letters, faxing application, answering phones, making copies, scanning documents and emailing.

· Maintains confidentiality of provider and organization information.

· Present each provider’s credentialing information package to the Personnel Committee for review and submission to the Board of Directors.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED: High School Diploma; Must has a minimum of 2-3 years of Credentialing experience for all provider types (primary care, dental, etc.) preferably in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) environment.

Associates degree preferred.

Other Skills & Abilities 

Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of CAQH and all other commercial insurances is highly desired. Must also be capable of multi-tasking, meeting critical deadlines and working well under pressure.

Experience with verification procedures for educational background, previous work history, residency/training programs, and licensure, DEA, CAQH and Board Certifications is required.
